Sophie

Sophie was the first flatbow that I made from knotty character wood. The species is Green Ash. I learned so much about the payoffs of patience when building this one. In the end she measured in at a comfortable 40#@27″. Light enough to shoot all day but heavy enough for a fair amount of kinetic energy and small game hunting. I was also able to pop out one of the knots and leave a hole clean through the limb to attach a feather. She’s in good hands now but I still miss this bow like an old friend.
